It has been a significant few months for Shanahan Partners — a moment to welcome a new senior colleague, recognise the leadership of others, and reflect on the environment our clients are navigating in 2026.

Welcoming Peter Murray

We are delighted to welcome Peter Murray to the team. Peter brings more than 20 years of international experience across government, financial services and global consulting, advising organisations through major transactions, corporate transformation and high-stakes situations.

He led the global corporate affairs practice at Grayling and was Director of Communications at Metro Bank in the lead-up to its London Stock Exchange listing. Earlier in his career, he established a public affairs capability at a global engineering consultancy and began as a political adviser in the government of Tony Blair.

Peter’s arrival further strengthens our senior-only advisory model and broadens the counsel we are able to offer clients here and offshore.

New equity partners

We are also pleased to share that Christian Bonnevie and Mat Bolland have become equity partners in Shanahan Partners. Their leadership, judgement and commitment to clients alongside the continued leadership of Richard Llewellyn reflect our confidence in the business we are building.

Themes shaping 2026

Across the organisations we partner with, a handful of themes are quickly coming to define the year. Most are navigating tightening operating conditions, shifting political signals and the global pressures flowing from the Iran conflict, including its effects on energy markets and supply chains.

This year’s election adds a further layer of unpredictability. Under MMP, every seat matters, and the tightness of the contest has reinforced the value of careful planning and scenario-based thinking.

In this environment, our focus remains unchanged: providing clear, discreet and senior-led advice to help our clients navigate uncertainty, protect and strengthen their reputation, and act with confidence when it matters most.
